Pleased you made it successfully and saw Germany's train system almost at its best. Since I came to live here in 2003 I have seen both sides of DB's reliability issues. A return journey from Frankfurt to Vienna (Austria) which arrived on time both ways and a return journey from Frankfurt to Amsterdam (the Netherlands) where the combined delay was something like 4 hours (the time a single journey should take). Rail works in the region of the Ruhr were responsible for substantial detours (on a Friday? OK, on the Sunday you might expect it). DB are starting on a series of upgrades next month which should improve things in the long term but will cause more short-term delays!
As for you being mad to try? Why not? When I was 19 (a long time ago, I shall be 4 times 19 next week😪) I tried to do a complete rail tour of Scotland in 7 days (including 2 days in Edinburgh, so maybe 5). My friends at the time all thought I was completely bonkers!😰
I love your Choice of Energy Drink! 😀 Gönrgy is a brand of a famous german streamer/Youtuber MontanaBlack. I think it's quite nice though!
What kind of ticket did you use for this trip?
One thing I love about the ICE is how clean and freshly painted the exteriors almost always are, even on the older ICE 1
Gönnergy 😂
Nuremberg would've been on the list if we would count residents not by political boundaries but by actual population spread… Oh well, it would piss off some of the Fürthers tho 😁
That trip was pretty ice-y! Fun challenge to watch!
And, 13:05, you pronounce every letter while speaking German. No silent e!
Was surprised you pulled it off, given DB's legendary reputation for never being on time haha.
You were extremely lucky. I had a rail holiday in Germany last year and every single train I took was delayed. Nuremberg to Rotheburg involves three short train rides, total travel time one hour. But because I missed every connection, it actually took three hours. Even my return from Mainz to Marseille was horrendously delayed, which is unusual on international trains. Luckily the German crew were replaced by French crew in Strasbourg and they rebooked my onward connection to Montpellier. I was obliged to change at Lyon though, because, with the delays incurred in Germany, there would have been no more trains from Marseille.
I have no idea how you did this, I came back from visiting my friend in cologne yesterday (i live near Freiburg in southern germany), on the way there and back I had a combined delay of 250 minutes for 2 train rides that should have taken 3 hours and 20 minutes each
You should have stayed at least 30min in Cologne so you could see the Kölner Dom. It is about 50m away from the Hbf
what app did you use to show the route?
11:47 how did you like it?
Respect
Wow, I must say you were lucky to take 10 trains and not get a huge delayed train. The last long-distance train I took had a delay of 3 hours, and that was one out of 3 I took that day. Anyways great video and we'd be more than happy if you visit us again!
It's wonderful explore in Germany, see from Bangladesh
10:26 buying gönergy makes montana black (biggest german streamer) proud af
Whatever the hell you are doing with that scooter in Berlin, pls don't. You're supposed to ride it on bike lanes and streets ONLY and also you are riding on the wrong side. But good video 👍
Hi Nonstop, have you reviewed the Alvia S730 to Extremadura? I ask you because on X, you said that you've ridden onboard a Media Distancia S599, not onboard an Alvia S730 (Patito made by Talgo). Have you tried the Alvia to Extremadura?
Very nice
And yes, more challenges would be nice like travelling to the unknown, where you don't know what town you will end up in the end. like taken the first train that draws into a station, get off after x amounts of stops (needs to be a station that has more than one train line) and take the next possible train for there, get off at x amount of stops again and so on and so on. At the end of the day wherever you end up you spend the night and do dome sightseeing the next day.
Well for some cities it is more like visit the station rather that really getting to see the city. OK it is hard to really see much in the dead of night tho'
There is a complete channel about the renovation and reorientation of Stuttgart Hbf: @BahnprojektStuttgart-Ulm
Nice one! New challenge: a similar wander through Switzerland, please. And maybe a Polish one, too.
Actually, there is one more train missing 😀 Because there is a 4th version of the ICE3, next to the OG BR403, the OG multisystem BR406 and the brand new BR408 Neo, you also have the BR407 Velaro D, which is almost identical to the neo but has been in service for a couple of years now!
Whats your all time favorite ICE train? Mine would either be the 3 or the 3neo
Actually if you want to get on an ICE 2 Train, try to go from Hannover to Bremen. You're most likely find them there
Vers nice challenge but didn’t you forgot the ICE velaro D?
as someone who rides the trains in Germany at least 2 times per week, i have to say that what you pulled is a miracle
Nice one mate, it was a pleasure travelling with you again (a bit different to the number 840 bus eh!?). 👍
Channel terbaik ❤❤❤❤❤
You didn’t face serious delays in most of the legs, and most of the trains departed on time. I think it is not a coincidence or luck, I think DB started to learn its lesson.
Great video, great challenge!
£240 for a suitcase that can go missing on any train you must be mad i use a back pack for when i travel your just another idiot on a e scooter no head gear have you got a driving license if not you can get fined
missed the northernmost port city of Kiel on baltic sea coast. a quintessentially German city of distinct German culture. i understand it doesn't come in the circular itinerary but still…
Can you do this same journey, but using only Regional trains. (not in 24 hours obviously), or in order by city size?
Great how you deliberately did not show Tom's face in your trademark style.
Fun thing to do! Love riding the ICE trains in Germany (When they run on time) 😉 Thanks for sharing
When did the Munich Starbucks close?
with NO! delays easy to do
Können Sie die 10 größten Städte Deutschlands in 24 Stunden mit dem Zug besuchen? The heading is probably from YouTube in German, which is really annoying, because behind it you suspect a German-language video, and boom it's in English…..
This probably cost a humongous amount of money
I can tell you right off; you absolutely could.. if you can trust Deutsche Bahn to be on time and free of cancellations. Haha.
Very well done indeed to complete your challenge. Great to see that Germany run quite a few trains during the night, i'm sure a few European countries could learn from them ! 🙂 Nice to briefly see Mark from 'Let's make a trip' in the video too ! 🙂
My favourite Country i always liked Deutsche Bahn
ICE T 🍹
Too bad you missed out on the ICE2 since the DB is unfortunally getting rid of them in the next few years. Until last year there were pretty common between Düsseldorf/Cologne and Berlin. But I read that many are getting replaced by ICE4 units and idk where ICE2 units are used rn.
I think you also missed out on the ICE3 Velaro D (BR407) since there are 4 types of ICE3s (BR 403, 406, 407, 408) in germany and you only been on 3.
Very cool video…
Too bad you had to rush through Düsseldorf and especially Cologne because of the delay since the symbol of cologne, the Cologne Cathedral (Kölner Dom) would have been just right outside of the train station and could have been seen if you sat on the otherside of the departing train.
But it sounds like a fun challenge I would love to try one day.
